Making a Difference: Plymouth Elementary School raises over $11,100 for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Plymouth Elementary School students raised over $11,100 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as part of this year’s Color Run, surpassing the school goal of $10,000.

Students were encouraged to raise money individually and with their classroom in advance of the Color Run, which was held on May 19. They were incentivized by the prizes and rewards offered at different levels. For raising more than the school goal, the students earned a “teacher switch,” where they will switch classrooms for a special morning meeting lesson. In addition, the classroom raising the most money earned a “sweet treat” party - that reward goes to Esther Kim’s class, which brought in a total of $1,410.

The top 10 student fundraisers had the privilege of dumping a bucket of slime over the head of a teacher of their choosing. Seven brave educators – Will Helm, Clare Crotty, Natalie Long, Bridget Behan, Megan Barone, Gwen Porter, and Michelle Weidamoyer – volunteered to be slimed in front of the whole school at the conclusion of the Color Run. The top 10 student fundraisers are:

Juliet Nicholson, $950
Benjamin Moore, $750
Maddie Randazza, $650
Cooper Gennaro, $640.80
Finn DeCarlo, $635
Michael Carosello, $575
Charlie Raymond, $550
