Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library is offering a variety of programs for children.
Baby Bounce & Rhyme Storytime- Mondays at 10:30 am- Drop in enjoy songs, stories, rhymes, and fingerplays for baby and you! Intended for ages 0-24 months with a caregiver.
- S.T.E.A.M. Train– Mondays at 4:30 pm- Inventions, science experiments, building challenges, art, robots, and more. Walk-ins accommodated if there’s room. Ages 6-12 .NO PROGRAM ON MARCH 30. registration required.
- Mini Markers–Tuesdays at 10:30 am-Preschoolers explore simple S.T.E.A.M. concepts such as science, building, math, and art! For ages 2-5 and caregivers. NO PROGRAM ON MARCH 31. registration required.
Bilingual Storytime– Tuesdays at 5:30 pm-Drop in join us for stories, songs, rhymes, and activities in Spanish and English! Intended for ages 2-5 with a caregiver. No program on March 31
Lego Club–Tuesdays at 6:00 pm & Saturdays at 1:00-3:00 pm- Drop in take your building skills to the next level! Meet with other LEGO fans and work on fun prompts and projects. Intended for ages 4-12. No program on March 31
Shake & Boogie– Wednesdays at 10:30 am-Drop in explore music and movement with songs, dance, instruments, and more! Intended for ages 2-5 with a caregiver.
Crafting Corner–Wednesdays at 4:30 pm Drop in create a different craft each week using a variety of materials! Ages 5-12.
Wee Readers Storytime– Thursdays at 10:30 am-Drop in stories, songs, rhymes, and activities for children ages 2-5 with a caregiver.
- Thursday Threads- Thursdays at 4:30 pm-Learn some textile arts! Embroidery (decorative sewing), knitting, crocheting, weaving, hand-sewing, or macramé! A different “thread” every week. For ages 6-12. registration required.
- Kinder Crafts– Fridays at 10:30 am-Our littlest patrons can enjoy a weekly craft based on the letter of the day! We'll practice each letter's sound, create a list of words that begin with the letter, and then create a fun craft incorporating the letter. This is a fun crafting program that targets letter recognition and early literacy skills! Intended for ages 3-6. Children ages 7 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times. registration required.
- Kids' Game Day– Fridays at 4:00-5:30 pm-Drop in Join in for a fun afternoon of Nintendo Mario Kart! For ages 5-12.
- Itty Bitty Book Club–Saturdays at 11:00 am-Prepare your preschooler for learning to read! A librarian reads a book, then follows with activities related to the book that promote the five early literacy practices: reading, talking, singing, playing and writing. Ages 3-5 with a caregiver. registration required.
- Kids Cook Spring Treats – Thursday, March 26 at 2:00 pm -Come cook up some fun spring-themed recipes. Ages 5-12. NASD early dismissal day activity. registration required.
- Build a Mini Robot – Friday, March 27 at 2:00 pm - Get ready to become inventors and engineers! Today’s activity is all about using your imagination and simple materials from around the library to build your very own miniature robot. Let’s create something amazing together! Ages 5-12. NASD early dismissal day activity. registration required.
Spring Break Reading Challenge Kickoff – Monday at March 30 at 1:00 pm – Drop in read 20 minutes a day during Spring Break to win a prize! Stop by to pick up a free book and get info on signing up for the challenge on the Beanstack app. If you read for 20 minutes per day from Monday, March 31 through Friday, April 3, you can pick up your prize on Saturday, April 4! Check our website for a link to sign up on Beanstack. Ages 12 and under.
Spring Story with Vivaldi’s Music –Tuesday, March 31 at 10:30 am –Listen to Vivaldi’s Spring, follow the story of Little Tree, move with the characters in the story, and make a craft. Ages 4-7. registration required.
Program space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. For groups of 5 or more, please call ahead. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
